My next food item of choice was none other than a container of strawberries. And by container, I mean the entire container at one sitting as a snack. That doesn't sound too bad, right? Well, except it was January and off season strawberries are expensive. Thank goodness for an understanding hubby who willingly drove through a McDonald's drive thru every night on his way home from work after stopping at 5 different grocery stores to find one with the best looking strawberries. I had to be a little picky, right?
Pregnancy cravings are no laughing matter. Well, they can be if you find yourself standing in the middle of your kitchen at 3 am with a bottle of spray cheese in your mouth and a jar of pickles in your hands. Your body needs certain nutrients at certain times and remember that your hormones are all out of whack at the moment. Sure, you can try to fight those pesky cravings, but what's the point of pregnancy if you can't use it as an excuse to eat an entire bucket of KFC??
The farther along you go through this beautiful journey of pregnancy, the more uncomfortable you're going to become. Why not allow yourself to enjoy the little things? Seriously.
Once your cravings start to hit, you'll know it. Just give in to the call of sweet calories and delicious delectables. Once your baby arrives, you won't have as much free time to enjoy those midnight snacks. And I don't know exactly why, but for some reason, things just taste differently once you're pregnant. Stay away from the things that make you sick, and stock up on the things that make you happy. Cause if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. :)
